‘Best tribute band’ Australian Pink Floyd return to ECHO Arena
THERE’S nothing like the real thing – except these guys.
Australian Pink Floyd, playing the first of two Summer Pops gigs at
the ECHO Arena last night, have been hailed as "probably the best
tribute band in the world."
Among their fans is Dave Gilmour , the guitarist and singer who
replaced Floyd founder Syd Barrett 40 years ago. So who’s going to
argue?
Last night’s programme covered the album Wish You Were Here and
presented The Best of The Wall.
But that’s not the end of it.
Australian Pink Floyd will be back to close the Summer Pops on July 26
with renditions of Dark Side of the Moon and Animals.
That, in itself, will be the silver lining for Floyd fans who flocked
to the ECHO Arena in May to see and hear Floyd veteran Roger Waters
perform Dark Side of the Moon.
